A plea to Redcar residents from FRED

*Updated* This is a plea to every Redcar resident and anyone else who cares. Start filling out this form. https://www.redcar-cleveland.gov.uk/Forms.nsf/ComplaintForm_3?readform

As you may know we already have 100's of images of building material on Redcar beach from Coatham to Zetland. Well early this year we also received tons of pictures of Coatham Dunes.

These images we're so serious we took over the complaint to the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) from a third party on the 7th August. The HSE have their Principle Officer looking into it (September 2014). We shall forward this blog to help. This issue has been clearly identified by us but there has been no foreseeable action. We aren't not prepared to sit back on such a dangerous area. What on earth is RCBC thinking of and how have we let this go on for so long?

How did they/we allow our beach area around Coatham dunes to become this bad without any thought to keep it safe for weekends and holidays and for our kids to play on. Why isn't this area safe and clean?

Heartbreaking doesn't begin to describe this mess. We'd sort it ourselves if the funding was there and if we were able to remove these vast heavy objects or remove all the broken glass. I saw kids doing somersaults and handstands near here.

The dunes are made up of broken masonry from the 1980's. These are landfill sites that we allow our children to play on. Dissipating sand has revealed the truth. This will only get worse over time if we continue to do nothing.

If you don't care who will? Who will sort out our beach if you don't push for it? Councillors who have little influence and struggle to know what's going on or decision makers who don't live in Redcar and rarely visit? Make a difference. You're action is important. https://www.redcar-cleveland.gov.uk/Forms.nsf/ComplaintForm_3?readform

It has to be Redcar residents who champion this. That means you. You reading this right now. Whether you're 9 or 90 something, you don't need to understand politics to see this is wrong and to not accept excuses. https://www.redcar-cleveland.gov.uk/Forms.nsf/ComplaintForm_3?readform

Redcar is around the same size as Scarborough - they manage their beaches without any support from hugely profitable industry on their doorstep.

Redcar belongs to us - own it! The beach is all of ours to enjoy. Reclaim our beach back from this unbelievable mess. https://www.redcar-cleveland.gov.uk/Forms.nsf/ComplaintForm_3?readform

Our kids and their kids deserve a decent home and it's down to YOU. How can you make a difference? Complain. https://www.redcar-cleveland.gov.uk/Forms.nsf/ComplaintForm_3?readform

Apathy is a loud statement that says "I don't care". And if you don't, if there is no pride, then here we are living it because when we say nothing - it's the same as saying "It's ok".

Together and as individuals we can change our culture because if we don't, we agree to  live like it, just like we always have done. Disregarded and neglected. Please break the mould and act now. Don't moan to family and friends - tell the right people. https://www.redcar-cleveland.gov.uk/Forms.nsf/ComplaintForm_3?readform

Don't put up with it. Remember why we have elected representatives. Are they doing anything about this? Have they ever been on the dunes? Who's your representative? https://www.redcar-cleveland.gov.uk/Councill1.nsf/Councillors?ReadForm=&search=wards&select=+

These pictures were taken right outside the caravan park where the holiday kids will be playing as well as locals who walk with their families. It's at best a claim and at worst a death trap. We had no idea just how bad it is!

Would you let your children play here. Did you know this is what they're playing amongst?
